Nurse educators in Cambodian universities, as well as Regional Training Centers (RTCs), need to teach the the Ministry of Health (MoH) required Nursing Informatics curriculum. However, they face various challenges.


Challenges

The current Nursing Informatics platform lacks suitability for Cambodian needs in language, terminology, and case studies.
The limitation of available computers.
Content production is slowed by the risk of intellectual property infringement.
"We can’t teach Nursing Informatics with Google Sheets, we need this NOW" (feedback from many nursing informatics instructors during a workshop at Khalibre office, April 2023)
Implementation
Integrate the platform with EHR (Electronic Health Record)-simulator.
Enable multilanguage (English and Khmer) in the platform.
Personalized profile and certification.
One training enabled for seven organizations.

Results

World-class platform and material in Khmer
Over 900 Cambodian nursing students gained digital skills.
Learning materials from local educators increased.
Rapidly met learning needs and market entry, with 3,000 courses delivered in
two months.
One training enabled for seven organizations.
The Up Skill Cambodia portal offers students equal opportunities to practice EHR, which is essential for meeting the demands of modern healthcare, as many facilities require familiarity with these technologies. The portal is user-friendly and straightforward, allowing students to explore EHR at their own pace outside of class, making the experience both exciting and engaging.
